‘Kong Green’ Babies…

Last year I had two Kong Coleus. (Coleus ‘Kong Scarlet’ and Coleus ‘Kong Green’)

The ‘Kong Green’ cutting that I wanted to overwinter didn’t survive, so I planted some seeds that I harvested, hoping that I would get more ‘Kong Green’ plants. Instead I got four different looking children.

Here’s the mama plant from last year (2005).

Tonight’s Gardening…

The Message Bean has sprouted its first leaves.

I planted two more Coleus pots. One contains ‘Red Ruffles‘ (new plant), ‘Unknown Speckled Green‘ (found cutting) and ‘Trailing Rose Frost‘ (overwintered cutting).

More Gardening Shows…

One of my favorite gardening show is back on the air on HGTV. Gardener’s Diary is airing at 4am (PST) Tuesdays and Thursday, preceding Rebecca’s Garden.

There are also more showings of Gardening by the Yard during the week, airing at the same time slot on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

I checked Yahoo! TV and it looks like these are older episodes, which I don’t mind, because I probably haven’t seem them, so they will be new to me…

My gardening show archive continue to grow… yeay!

My newly washed Bibbi Blad quilt cover (from Ikea) reminds me of my coworker’s new PSP game Loco Roco.

Dying, Help Me…

I found this Lucky Bamboo on my desk at work yesterday morning with a note that read “Dying, help me…”

Mulched…

Today I replaced the newspaper mulch in one of my veggie beds with ground bark. I like the results a lot better.

I was thinking of leaving the newspaper under then bark, but water didn’t seem to go through the newspaper that well.

More Gardening (Yesterday)

Sunday, July 9, 2006

I was able to catch up on some repotting today. I repotted the Arguta Kiwi (female), White Genoa Fig, Forsythia and some Taros into larger one gallon containers.

I also repotted my Pink Echeveria, and discovered that the grower didn’t even remove the plastic basket it was originally grown in. I had to cut the basket into pieces so I wouldn’t damage its roots and the baby plants. Here’s the before and after photos.

Here’s a photo of the vegetable bed I been working on.

And finally, as I was done with most of my gardening chores, I got a bag a potato chips and Calli kept chasing me around the garden trying to get some. I gave her a few, but ened up giving her some doggie snacks. Here she is one the other side of the vegetable bed.
