I think I’ll make this a regular series.
You know you’re a gardener when you see cut herbs in the produce isle… and check to see if they can be rooted.

This has been a long week, and I have not been keeping up with my plants, photos, LiveJournal and sleep. (I will this weekend)
I’ve been thinking a lot about the pit bull attack on Wednesday and have this weird feeling. I don’t know if it’s like a feeling of feeling violated… I can’t quite put it in words. I no longer feel safe walking Calli around the neighborhood. I know that was probably a freak thing that happened, but I just can’t go out there with Calli, even thought I know she’s been enjoying our time together when I take her for a dog walk after work.
Yesterday, I took her out… but we just staying within our property, going back and fort between the front yard and back. It kinda felt silly, but that’s just how it’s got to be for now.
This evening, I had an idea to search for dog parks around the area, because I don’t think Vallejo has one. I was so surprised to see the results I found on Google.
Vallejo is opening it’s first dog park next week!!!!!!!
I can’t tell you how great this feels.
I saw this spider in front of our doorway in the middle of the night.
There was barely enough light, so I used a combination of my Palm Treo’s screen, plus a 2 second exposure to capture this. (I didn’t want to use a flash)
I wanted to take another one, but she decided to go.

This seems to be the longest day… especially with yesterday’s incident. I couldn’t sleep, so ended up sleeping at about 5:30am!… I didn’t wake up and was late to work.
Since I was late to work, I couldn’t take carpool, so I drove in. Ironically, look what was in front of me on the freeway…
An animal control vehicle!!!!! I sure could have used them yesterday!!!
Yesterday, one of my coworker was explaining some of my cameras features. I thought I would try my hand at a long exposure shot.
This is taken at the parking lot near my work. I was working overtime and took a break outside. The street in the photo is The Embarcadero in San Francisco. Can you see my Honda Civic?
Since I drove into work, I thought I would take advantage of my car and transport all my overwintered Coleus in one big batch (instead of my “What can I fit into one grocery bag” method. So after I finished all my work (at 11:30pm), I packed all the remaining Coleus at work and made my trip home.
top row (left to right): Coleus ‘Velvet Lime’, Coleus ‘Amora?’
middle row: Coleus ‘Jade’, Coleus ‘Pat Martin’
bottom: Plectranthus ‘Zulu Wonder’
Before being attacked by the pit bull (see previous entry), I took these photos at Sandpiper Point (Vallejo, CA)
There were a lot of plants and flowers that I didn’t know. I especially like the middle yellow flower with the fuzzy white foliage.
I just went through one of the most frightening experiences in my life.
I was walking our dog Calli near the bay and we were attacked by a stray pit bull.
