Late Night Salad Planting

Today’s harvest was a variety of Lettuce and Parsley for a Lettuce/Parsley Salad.

This inspired me to sow various Salad Greens seeds that I want to use up since they are old or getting old (and I can’t just throw them away).

I planted:
– Mustard ‘Crimson Red’ (2012)
– Celtuce (2013)
– Garland Chrysanthemum ‘Maiko’ (?)
– Lettuce ‘Grand Rapids’ (2010)
– Lettuce ‘Simpson Elite’ (2006)
– Lettuce ‘Marvel of Four Season’ (2010)
– Lettuce ‘Mighty Red Oak’ (2006)
– Lettuce ‘Romaine Paris Island Cos’ (2004)
– Corn Salad ‘Bistro’ (2007)

Salad Green seeds planted.

I really not counting on a lot to germinate, but if I get a few plants out of these, that’ll be good.

I sowed more Winter Veggies into Jiffy Peat Pellets (4 each):
– Flowering Kale Folia
– Bok Choy ‘Joi Choi’ (2010-2011 Batch 2) Folia
– Mustard ‘Broad Leaf’ Folia
– Misome Folia

I also sowed some Lettuce and Mesclun into cell-packs with vermiculite:
– Lettuce ‘Mightly Red Oak’ Folia
– Lettuce ‘Marvel of Four Seasons’ Folia
– Lettuce ‘Prizehead’ Folia
– Mesclun ‘Zesty Salad Mix’ Folia

A few weeks ago, I left some dried Agrostemma Folia seedheads outside and forgot to collect the seeds. With our recent rain, they got wet and started to germinate, so I took some of the sprouts and planted them in 4″ pots.

I cooked it up with Sardines, Garlic, Onion, Lemon and Soy Sauce…

5:43pm Sowing various Peppers: Emerald Giant, Golden Marconi, Red Bell, Carmagnila Rossa (G3), Sweet Mini Red, Sweet Mini Orange and Thai Dragon… #

5:49pm Sowed other Nighshades: Easter Eggplant, African Orange Eggplant, Congo Trinidad Pepper, Datura Golden Queen and Datura Purple Queen… #

5:54pm Almost forgot to sow the Scarlet Chinese Eggplant (G2) seeds… #

6:36pm My Mom is top dressing her hanging tuberous Begonia with compost… They are starting to sprout… #

6:46pm Sowed some flowers in cell-packs outside: Tithonia Torch, Moonflower, Cleome Rose Queen and Cleome Four Queen… #

6:51pm Kiwis, Figs and Pomegranates are starting to leaf out… #

6:54pm It’s been a busy day in the garden and it’s now dark… I would stay out longer to sow more seeds, but the mosquitos are annoying me!… #

10:35pm I noticed that the Sugar Cane now has a second sprout. The first one is about 3 inches now… #
