The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill

Taken on Friday on my way home from work.

Red-masked Conure (Aratinga erythrogenys) atop a traffic light on the corner of Drumm and Clay in San Francisco.

These are the bird featured in the film “The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill“. Here’s a link to rent it from Netflix.

After their tiff, they fell off, but were able to fly away without hitting the pavement (or cars).

  • Your new icon is soooo cute!

  • dude, these photos are so awesome.

that movie was already in my queue!
hopefully, it will come this week.

    • I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’ve heard that it is very captivating and emotional.

I’m trying to get my work to have a brown bag lunch (is that the correct term?) where we’ll show this movie. It’s very appropriate, because they live close to our work and we see and hear them flying overheard all the time.

  • How cool that you got to see them and get an action shot. I had never heard of them before, but will definately try to see the movie.

I will have to try and learn about the history of them.
