I just learned how to convert a DivX file into something my dvd player can read. I wish I could just burn a DivX (.avi) file to disk, but my dvd player can’t read DivX files, but it can read mpeg-1 burn as regular computer files. 1. I had to take the divx (.avi) file and run it through DivX Doctor II so the audio would play correctly on my Mac. 2. I then export the DivX .avi file to a Quicktime movie using QuickTime Pro. 3. Ran the QuickTime .mov file through ffmpegX to give me an mpeg-1 (.mpg) file that I can finally burn to disk and play on my dvd player. Yeay! Of course I had to install a couple of programs/codec like the ffmpeg DivX codec, mencoder, mplayer and mpeg2enc… It would be great to go directly to a .mpg from a DivX .avi, but I was getting errors, so I had to run step 1 and 2 above for this to work… Theremust be a way… I’ll test converting a DivX to a mpeg-2 or DVD (VIDEO_TS) and see if my dvd player will read that, but I can’t fit as much on a blank DVD-R. I usually can get 7-8 hours of mpeg-1 on a blank DVD-R. Whew!

My oldest brother just passed by and surprised us with the new SUV that he bought… a Toyota Sequoia… Dang! that thing is big… and the cost is big too… I think it’s the cost of my car, my other brother’s new car and my nieces combined… but they have a big family… and that what they have been wanting for a long time now…

Today was so and so at work… I went to lunch with Smiles and she was in pain… She took a yoga class on the weekend and a hip hop dancing class so she was sore and couldn’t move that much. I was teasing her that she walked like an old lady… We had Beef Pho and it was good… I haven’t had that for a while…

Scratch called me and asked if we can go out to Japanese, cuz he wanted to get out of the house… He sounded frustrated because the other two roommate left the kitchen a mess… So after work, I took the BART and they picked me up and we when to Berkeley for Japanese buffet… yumm again :)

I finished my freelancing project last night and I was finally able to upload it to my client’s web space this morning!!! (www.antoinedo.com) I feel so free and so accomplished… This is my first web site that is purely in flash, so it was kinda a challenge in some ways, but I got rid of all the actionscript bugs (I hope so)… and it finally worked correctly… Yeay!!!! I did learn alot and learn to do some flash scripting differently. I should one of my geeky friends who was on dialup and he said it loaded in 8 seconds, which is really good. I was afraid it was going to be a long load. It was nice to come home and not have to worry about doing work :) well, until i start working on my next freelance project to redesign or update my friend’s site (www.garye.com).

I had another hella busy day today (Monday) at work… and now I’m continuing my freelance. Hopefully, I’ll finish tonight.

Tomorrow (Tuesday), a coworker and I are hosting a little breakfast for work weekly status meeting. She’s gonna make a egg casserole thingy, while I just finished making 2 loaves of Banana/Apricot Nut Bread. I’ll bring that along with some Rice Crispy Treats that my mom made.

I got a call from my good friend Dukz, he told me that Janet’s new single, “Just A Little While,” is on her web site… so I went to take a listen… It’s catchy… and I can’t wait til her new album comes out :)

Ohh… the Banana/Apricot Nut Bread smells so good… it’ll be done in “Just A Little While”… hehe… yeah, I know that was bad! (and corny!)
