Photos from the Garden

I love my new Canon PowerShot A610 camera, because it can take much better macros than my old Canon PowerShot SD100. I can shoot as close as 1cm. Below are some photos I took earlier today.

Back in July 9 our Jade Plant broke off and I asked for advice here on LiveJournal. We replanted the plant, and it’s doing okay. ( July 29 entry )

Our dog Kelly likes to watch me photograph plants. Unfortunately, she also steps on them.

Back in late July our Tropic White Guava started to bloom ( Blooms July 29 ) ( Unopened blooms July 11 ). The fruit are now about an inch long.

My co-worker Ed gave me this carnation, because it didn’t look like it would survive in our office. I planted it in the garden and it’s blooming again.

  • Those are lovely! I especially love the jade plant flowers and carnations. I tried planting some carnations and they flowered, but not well..so I just pulled them up.

I’ve been researching a small purse carrying camera so I wouldn’t have to tote my Canon 10D around all the time. It’s quite heavy. And I just ended up ordering the Canon A620. Should be here in a few days and I can’t wait. That 1cm macro feature is going to be great!
